Denman Island Summer Art Gallery
The Summer Art Gallery is a program of the Arts Denman Society. Our primary goal is to offer Denman Island artists a Gallery to exhibit their art. We host 6 or 7 two-week shows each season. The Gallery itself is housed in the Seniors Activity Centre in the village, a short walk up the hill from the ferry. Watch for the signs.
Opening Receptions
An opening reception with the artist in attendance is held on the first day of the show from 7:00 to 9 PM. All are welcome.
Call for Submissions
The Summer Art Gallery Committee accepts submissions for art shows early each year with a March 1 deadline. The Committee reviews the submissions and finalizes their season mid-March each year.
Our Mandate
The Summer Art Gallery is committed to providing a venue for both emerging and established local artists to showcase their work. The Summer Art Gallery Committee provides a curator for each show, volunteer gallery sitters and publicity.
Submission Guidelines
Complete application forms are available in Abraxas Books or from Connie Treen (contact info below) upon request. You will provide us with:
- Theme and title of show including number of works (with sizes)
- Bio and Artist’s statement – and -
- Photographs of your work (photographs or CDR or DVDR if by mail)

General Information
The Summer Art Gallery commission is 25% of all sales for artists who are members of Arts Denman and 35% commission for non-members.
